Annie Fischer
Annie Fischer was a child prodigy, making her debut at the age of 10. She studied piano at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest, with Ernst von Dohnanyi. At the age of 19, she won the Liszt International Piano Competition performing the Liszt Sonata in B minor. Most of her career was spent in Europe and Australia, although later in her life, she toured the United States. She was widely hailed and admired for her playing style which was characterized for its spiritual depth, intensity, power and effortless phrasing.

Fischer was particularly noted for her Beethoven and Mozart interpretations, having recorded the complete Beethoven Sonatas over a 15 year period.
